Buyer - Food & Beverages | FMCG Procurement | £40,000 + Package | London (Hybrid)

Due to consistent growth and expansion, a unique food and beverages procurement opportunity has emerged to join a prestigious £multi-billion blue chip FMCG firm. They seek a Buyer to develop and execute procurement strategies, taking responsibility for a diverse range of strategic sourcing projects and tenders to deliver value add, cost savings, and mitigate supply chain risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Create sourcing strategies and identify market opportunities to ensure the company's operations/output remains market leading.
  • Develop and implement strategies prior to upcoming projects, contract expiry, and premeditated market changes which will commercially affect the firm.
  • Ensure sourcing strategies and tender outcomes maximize commercial success and value.
  • Assess and mitigate commodity risk, monitor market trends, and devise strategies with the supply base to reduce issues moving forward.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as key clients to collaborate and deliver cost savings on direct procurement related spend.
  • Adhere to sustainable sourcing practices and contract & framework compliance.

Required Experience:

  • End-to-end procurement experience preferably in FMCG/Retail/Food & Beverages/Hospitality.
  • Strong commercial acumen & negotiation skills, strong communicator, and the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders/suppliers.
  • Ability to achieve cost savings against volatile/changing market conditions (food/commodities).
