Position: Buyer
Location: Cookstown

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of all components and consumables.
  • Ensure components are purchased competitively and delivered on time, meeting expected lead times.
  • Monitor key components and place orders for low stock items to avoid shortages, considering supplier lead times.
  • Continuously track stock levels to maintain them within acceptable limits as defined in the system.
  • Source components from various manufacturers as needed, including for new or changing requirements.
  • Verify purchases against supplier price lists, ensuring discounts and quantity breaks are correctly applied.
  • Forecast critical item needs, review usage monthly, and update forecasts accordingly.
  • Negotiate improved pricing and services with suppliers, especially those with high usage.
  • Coordinate with couriers and shippers for the collection and delivery of items, monitoring deliveries.
  • Match proof of delivery (POD) to invoices, enter details into the system, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • File supplementary declarations with TSS.
  • Assist with shop counter tasks related to small sales and repairs when required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing department.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal, written, telephone, and email communication skills.
