We are looking for a Buyer and Planner for our client who is a leading distributor of chemicals.
GENERAL DETAILS:
Full-time / Permanent
Mon-Fri / 35 hours per week
Leeds City Centre office
Flexible working hours with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office

THE ROLE: Working as a key member of the UK Purchasing department, as a Buyer and Planner, you will build relationships with suppliers and source materials for customers.
Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers both in person and over the phone.
Negotiating with assigned suppliers to ensure the best price and best payment terms are achieved for all orders.
Managing stock levels to meet both company objectives and customer expectations.
Proactively managing slow moving stock and quarantine material.
Attending meetings with the sales team to promote materials and provide market information for them to relay to customers.
Ordering products as required from approved suppliers.
Sourcing new products and onboarding new suppliers.
Providing accurate pricing to UK and Export Sales Teams.
WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Someone who has:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Good organisational abilities and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Buying experience in a distribution environment.
Bonus to have:
CIPS Qualification.
Chemistry / Science-based degree.
