Job description

Futures are working with one of the fastest growing and well known manufacturing businesses in the area looking to appoint a buyer to work within their supply chain. The successful buyer will come from a manufacturing background and have the ability to read and interpret drawings. The role will be focused on working with new and existing suppliers, negotiating on price.

Buyer - Role and Responsibilities - Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing
  1. Collation of information to help produce monthly KPIs
  2. Use your own experience / initiative to solve manufacturing and assembly problems with the supply chain
  3. Identify, source and purchase metal products to ensure products are manufactured in line with business requirements (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Value Add)
  4. Responsible for managing a large range of products from the initial order, communicating with suppliers and monitoring delivery schedules
Buyer - Skills and Abilities - Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing
  1. Experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  2. Understanding of manufacturing methods
  3. Familiar with ERP systems, lean techniques and logistics / supply chain
