Job description

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Buyer with experience in Civil Engineering and Construction projects.

Our client is an established contractor and has a very good pipeline of work. You will be responsible for supporting the project by managing materials, supply chain, planning of operations, project delivery, and assisting with keeping the project on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities will be:

1. Responsible for developing and maintaining materials strategy
2. Managing a Materials Management Team
3. Accountable for materials supply chain management in liaison with the commercial team
4. Work with Management to identify supply needs
5. Produce and maintain materials strategy
6. Manage materials in line with Materials Strategy
7. Ensure compliance with Quality Management Plan
8. Support procurement team
9. Record and assess all materials quality, movements, and expenditure
10. Manage materials reconciliation and forecast
11. Review and maintain Inspection and Test plans
12. Ensure processes and procedures are being followed
13. Manage material testing process and regime
14. Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity
15. Manage ongoing continuous improvement and encourage innovative solutions
16. Raise risk and opportunities

You will be expected to:

1. Establish solid partnership with key supply chain
2. Ensure compliance with internal and external governance
3. Management of materials budget whilst minimising waste and maximising value
4. Have knowledge of NEC and be commercially astute
5. Design and Build / ECI experience within infrastructure
