Job description

Chase & Holland are delighted to partner with an exceptional FMCG business in Derbyshire to support in their search for a Buyer. This is a senior procurement role and would be ideally suited to someone with a strong FMCG background and who is capable of moving with incredible pace and precision to achieve the goals set out in the role.

The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing a variety of direct categories; either food or closely related to. There will be significant requirements to liaise with internal stakeholders, as well as externally facing, in order to maintain and develop strong supplier relationships and implement the company buying strategy. The successful Buyer will provide the company with a fundamental platform to satisfy both current customers and attract new business, which is paramount to the business going forward.

The Buyer will be required to:

1. Implement the company buying strategy for their categories
2. Identify the correct suppliers for the best possible commercial and product offering for our customer base and flex according to changing business requirements
3. Directly agree prices, volumes and specifications with suppliers for raw materials
4. Work closely in a cross-discipline fashion with the Supply Chain and Operations teams
5. In conjunction with the Supply Chain team, manage and improve supplier performance in a phenomenally fast-paced environment where satisfaction of KPIs and SLAs are absolutely fundamental
6. Where appropriate take action to address and remedy any underperformance. At the same time, it is crucial to acknowledge excellent supplier performance
7. Communicate with the wider business, and where necessary customers, in a clear, concise and professional manner
8. Ensure accurate and timely administration of supplier cost prices
9. Play an integral role in the preparation of customer tenders
10. Identify risks within the supply chain promptly and efficiently, making recommendations to ensure continuity and improvement of supply

Package and benefits:

1. A salary in the region of £55,000 depending on experience
