ROLE PURPOSE - WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY

The Business Transformation Programme Manager will drive end-to-end programme lifecycle management for strategic transformation initiatives, from concept through implementation and post-implementation review. This role focuses on leading strategic, transformational change within Camlin, ensuring initiatives fundamentally reshape business processes, systems, and strategies to achieve long-term sustainable success.

The Programme Manager will foster holistic alignment by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Operations, People, Finance, and IT. They will own the project intake process, managing the evaluation and discovery of new initiatives, and guiding them through the investment committee, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

This role is responsible for leading the annual Business Transformation budget process, ensuring a centralised view of project demand, and collaborating with Camlin’s senior leadership team to establish a project prioritisation framework that aligns high-value projects with strategic organisational objectives. The Programme Manager will leverage extensive programme management experience and demonstrate ownership of programme initiatives.

The Programme Manager will lead and supervise Project Managers, ensuring cohesive delivery of individual projects within the broader programme. They will deliver monthly performance reports to key stakeholders, including the senior leadership team, excelling in communication, presenting critical updates, insights, and managing escalations for informed decision-making. Collaborating with other Programme Managers, and the Head of Project Management, they will contribute to the development and promotion of consistent best practices, ensuring high-quality outcomes and organisational alignment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Clear accountability to support the delivery of tangible project value.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programme frameworks and processes to ensure predictable delivery.
  • Maintain a centralised, holistic view of all projects within the programme.
  • Oversee centralised risk assessment and compliance monitoring at the programme level.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within defined cost, time, and quality objectives.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process for Business Transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with skill requirements and resource commitments.
  • Drive consistency and best practice across project delivery in collaboration with other Programme Managers, and Head of Project Management.
  • Focus on Investment Stream ensuring all projects are approved by the Investment Committee and comply with Governance requirements and Project Process.
  • Ensure all lessons learnt are captured, recorded, and shared from each phase of the project process, including lessons from the customer adoption of the product.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for programme-related issues, facilitating resolution with stakeholders.
  • Drive performance and ensure business units have line of sight into project performance; remove ambiguity and resolve issues affecting performance.
  • Role model Camlin’s values when driving the team to deliver company objectives.
  • Through thinking, planning and leadership, create space and remove obstacles enabling project managers to deliver their projects.

REQUIRED CRITERIA & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a relevant third level qualification preferably Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; project management or related discipline
  • Desirably have 10 years plus experience in managing strategic projects, either large or multiple programme / project teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of project management, product management, strategic planning, lifecycle methodologies and delivery best practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of mobilising cross functional teams within complex organisations, including design and software services.
  • Strong business mind with demonstrable experience contributing to commercial performance.
  • Experience leading programme teams and effective resource planning.
  • Experience in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Preferably holds an accepted project management qualification, APM / PRINCE2 etc.
