Job description

What is arguably the most exciting insurance company in the market right now, seeks a talented Business Systems Manager to lead the development of an exciting new insurance platform. Our client, a fortune 500 company with over 60 offices in 20+ countries, uses its ingenuity to insure risks that others can’t. Finding smart solutions to complex problems, the company’s goal is to ensure that people can live their lives and seize opportunities. This is a key role, which will support the continued growth of the company, in line with its plans to double in size over the next 5 years. It’s an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual, who is fully engaged and invested in Tech, to make a real impact within this world-leading company. This position could either suit a current Business Systems Manager, or alternatively, a Business Systems Analyst who is ready to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Management: Executing, setting-up, and sustaining business systems to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Integration: Overseeing application integrations to guarantee smooth data flow and functionality.
  3. Project Management: Managing system-related projects, creating plans, allocating resources, and tracking progress.
  4. Process Improvement: Optimising system efficiency and business processes to support organizational objectives.
  5. User Support: Delivering technical assistance and training programs to ensure effective use of business systems.
  6. Data Management: Maintaining data integrity and accuracy, and producing reports for business decision-making.
  7. Compliance and Security: Ensuring adherence to cybersecurity regulations, conducting audits, and performing risk assessments.
  8. Collaboration: Partnering with departments to fulfil their system requirements and enhance productivity.
  9. Problem Resolution: Addressing IT issues and leading troubleshooting efforts to reduce business disruptions.
  10. Quality Assurance: Supervising testing of system capabilities, data integrity, and user proficiency.

It’s essential that you have demonstrable experience of working with systems in the insurance sector. This will be backed up with knowledge of the insurance process, and this can either be from a commercial or personal lines environment. You’ll have strong technical skills in developing and implementing new system solutions, a comprehensive understanding of computer applications and systems, and exceptional analytical, innovative, and problem-solving abilities. You’ll be proficient in Change Management to effectively drive and support business process, systems, and technology transitions, and you’ll have the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic working environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the capability to explain complex concepts to non-technical individuals. This particular office is based in state-of-the-art premises in central Manchester, although we will consider candidates from further afield, who are willing to travel to Manchester semi-regularly. You’ll be rewarded with a generous basic salary, plus a lucrative 20% bonus, and a superb range of company benefits, which include substantial pension contributions. In addition, our company offers first-class training and development, as well as a myriad of career-development opportunities. In fact, we visited their office recently, and it was difficult to find someone who hadn’t just had, or was on track to receive, a promotion.
