Are you an experienced and organised Business Support or Administration professional with a keen eye for detail?

The Business Support service’s vision is a simple one: ‘to implement a robust, flexible and resilient business support service across Children’s Services’. In this key post within Wandsworth Children’s Services, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective business support to the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) service working with families that are in acute crisis, so emotions often run high.

About the role

Reporting to the Business Support Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality service by promoting a good working environment and assisting with emergency situations when required. You will be responsible for answering calls, dealing sensitively and helpfully with callers, maintaining filing systems, and setting up new starters on systems.

Additionally, the role involves confidently using IT systems and programs, accurately inputting data, and preparing correspondence in accordance with Council standards. Your manager will ensure that you get all the support, training and development you need to be able to successfully undertake your role.

Whilst primarily supporting a particular service, you will also be a team player in the wider team and have a flexible approach in helping other areas and at times may even be required to work elsewhere across the directorate.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in using IT systems and programs.
  • Strong communication and excellent organisation skills with the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal sensitively, calmly and effectively with enquiries from a range of staff, partners and telephone or personal callers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy.
  • Commitment to professional development and undertaking mandatory training as required.

If you meet the above criteria and want to join a fast-paced service working within tight timescales, and thrive on a challenge, then this could be the role for you!
