Job description

If you’re brilliant at organisation and creating order, and you love working with people, upholding high standards in service and presentation, then this could be the role for you.

We’re looking for a Business Services Co-ordinator to join us at Chedworth Roman Villa.

The role involves some weekend and bank holiday working, as part of the Duty Manager rota. This equates to around one weekend a month, so some flexibility around hours is necessary.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work with them to manage the school offer. We are a small community at Chedworth, with a Visitor Experience team of two who also manage the Volunteers and Communications and Marketing Team, a Conservation Lead, Welcome team, and Retail and Food and Beverage teams.

Chedworth Roman Villa is a unique and remarkable site set in a Cotswold coombe near Cirencester. This role offers you the opportunity to work in a beautiful and historic setting as a key member of the Chedworth team. There is a real sense of community here, where everyone plays their part to look after this special place and welcome over 60,000 visitors a year.

What you'll be doing

This is a busy place; there’s a lot going on, and you’ll find that no two days are the same.

Generally, you’ll be supporting day-to-day operations and being the first person that people see when they come into the office. Your advice and experience will be sought after by others beyond the office team.

You’ll be a champion of best practice when it comes to business support and will confidently challenge the status quo when you think there’s a better way of doing something.

As a site that welcomes a large number of children and young people who visit with their schools, you will be responsible for administering these visits and working alongside the Property Operations Manager to develop this offer.

You will need to work outside sometimes and will collaborate with and possibly support the other Business Service Coordinators in the portfolio.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the documents attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills, and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you’re:

  1. experienced in giving business support, along with responsibility for facilities or office supervision
  2. good at communicating, both in writing and speaking
  3. able to work as part of a team, but also on your own initiative
  4. flexible and focused on people
  5. happy to multi-task and manage your own priorities and workload
The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

  • Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
  • Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest, and your children (under 18)

  • Flexible working whenever possible
  • Employee assistance programme
