Are you a dedicated person who is passionate about making a difference? RAF Halton has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Business Manager at Station Headquarters.
The primary role of RAF Halton is to train military and civilian personnel to perform to the highest standard for military operations. In particular, this sees the Station deliver the Basic Recruit Training Course which has a throughput of approximately 2300 personnel graduating from the Phase 1 course annually, as well as the delivery of command, leadership and management training for all non-commissioned Service Personnel as part of their Phase 3 development.
RAF Halton is home to 21 Supported Units across a range of specialities from air activity to defence media operations. The Station also supports 16 RAF Sports Associations as their nominated ‘home’, Wider Defence Tasks, Air Cadet Activity and Senior Leadership Team events.
The Business Manager role is fundamental to Station output and offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, agile environment where you will need to have a flexible approach to enable rapid delivery to respond to priorities as they emerge.
As part of the Better Defence Estate Strategy, it was announced that RAF Halton would be closing in 2027. The scope and potential relocation of posts is still to be identified.
Probation will normally last for six months. However, in certain roles, where specific training or qualifications are required, probation may last up to 12 months. The probation period may be suspended if the employee is absent from work, preventing an assessment of their suitability for the role.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The role leads the Business Management Team and oversees delivery of an efficient business support service for the Station.

This role requires experience in a high-paced environment where decisions and tasks need to be handled quickly and effectively. An ability to network & gain a quick rapport with colleagues and build effective working relationships with a wide variety of partners is a must.
The individual must understand and comply with current policies and guidelines and be able to advise and communicate effectively.
