Purpose of the role

The purpose of the role is to produce, analyse and interpret management information for use by all divisions across the Group.

Working within Group Finance, the Business Analytics function is responsible for data warehousing, reporting, analysing, and pricing for all Group activity. The role has a focus on delivering the Business Intelligence requirements to stakeholders across the Group.

The BI analyst will be solving reporting problems by extracting, analysing, and interpreting data from a variety of sources and producing data visualisations allowing the end user to self-serve.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated solutions/systems to assist the business in its operation, using Power BI, Excel and the Microsoft SQL Server suite of products
  • Analysing trends in the performance and behaviour of the Group’s loan assets based upon historical data
  • Production of regular reporting which supports the financial month-end accounting process and the operational strategy
  • Assist in projects on a wide range of Group initiatives
  • Production of regular and ad hoc reporting solutions as and when requested by the business areas across the Group
  • Producing analysis and insight to understand customer trends and behaviours and identify potential regulatory impacts on the Group's assets
  • Provide recommendations to the business based on the results of analysis undertaken
About You

Skills

  • Ability to analyse & understand datasets, and interpret and present results in a clear and concise manner
  • Focus on using own initiative, and adopting a logical and systematic approach to work
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Analytically focused & detail conscious
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications and experience
Experience within the Financial Services Industry, a background in SQL, Excel and Power BI, and a degree in a relevant discipline would be desirable.

Working hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch) - Hybrid role.

Training
Relevant training will be provided.
