We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to drive sustainability career initiatives for our students. As the Business and Employability Manager (Green Careers), you will play a key role in helping University of Reading students understand how to integrate sustainable practices into any career path. While many students are drawn to traditionally "green" careers, sustainability is increasingly vital across all sectors, and you’ll empower students to contribute to the green transition, no matter their field of interest.
Aligned with the University’s commitment to sustainability, you will highlight our leadership in addressing climate and sustainability challenges. You will also connect students with green jobs, internships, and placements in impactful industries, from renewable energy to sustainable businesses, and support them in developing relevant skills and knowledge for a wide range of disciplines.
This is your chance to shape a brand-new role in an award-winning Careers team, working closely with our Global Sustainability Leaders scholarship manager and with leading employers, industry experts, and our global sustainability scholars themselves. Together, you’ll create a community of global sustainability leaders of the future.

Student Services currently offer smart working arrangements where by, (following a 6 week induction period), staff may have the opportunity to work from home up to 40% of their working week. Whilst this is an informal arrangement, it is something the successful post-holder can benefit from, whilst remaining flexible around key event dates and the requirements of the role.
