Business Development Manager (Transportation/Rail)
Salary: 50,000 - 80,000 (+ 35-40k OTE + travel allowance)
Location: UK Wide (must be open to commuting to London twice a week).
Our client, a leading provider of innovative asset integration software solutions across the transportation and infrastructure sector, is currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager (Transport/Rail) to join their team. The company closely partners with entities such as Network Rail, Transport for London (TfL), National Highways, Amey, and other large-scale organisations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives in the rail/transport sector
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape within the rail/transport industry
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and industry partners
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals and presentations to secure new contracts and projects
- Drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and closing deals
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company's market position and capabilities
- Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients and partners, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with company policies
- Develop and manage the business development budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve targets
- Monitor and report on business development activities, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior management
Job Requirements:
- Experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the rail or transportation industry
- In-depth understanding of the rail and transportation sector, including industry regulations, standards, and best practices
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events
