Location: Remote/Hybrid (Field-based with regular visits to headquarters in Southern Home Counties, UK)

Now, they're expanding into emerging markets such as smart edge computing, IoT, and high-reliability medical technology.

The Role: Strategic Expansion & Sales Leadership

As a Business Development Manager, you will lead the company's commercial expansion, driving new business growth and long-term strategic sales initiatives within the UK and Europe. This is a hands-on role, balancing individual contribution with strategic initiatives to establish the company's dominance in rugged and embedded computing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive High-Value Sales Growth: Identify and secure large-scale contracts in defence, aerospace, industrial automation, and medical technology sectors for rugged computing and embedded system solutions.
  2. Develop Strategic Sales Plans: Execute a structured, multi-sector growth strategy targeting OEMs, systems integrators, and project-based customers.
  3. Expand OEM & Integrator Partnerships: Strengthen relationships with leading systems integrators, Tier 1 OEMs, and project-based engineering firms.
  4. Market Expansion & Competitive Analysis: Identify emerging opportunities in mission-critical computing for industrial IoT, defence, medical, and automation applications.
  5. Close Complex, Multi-Stakeholder Deals: Navigate long sales cycles, technical procurement processes, and high-value B2B negotiations.
  6. Align Sales with Technical & Operations Teams: Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure custom solutions align with client needs.
  7. Own Sales Metrics & Pipeline Management: Utilize CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to deliver accurate forecasting and data-driven decision-making.

Who You Are:
  1. Technical Sales Expert: Minimum of 5 years of experience selling rugged computing, high-power industrial hardware, embedded systems, or specialist computing solutions.
  2. Industry Specialist: Strong track record in defence, industrial automation, medical technology, high-reliability computing, or critical infrastructure markets.
  3. Proven Hunter & Closer: Experience securing multi-million-pound deals with OEMs, systems integrators, and engineering firms.
  4. Hardware & Embedded Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with rack-integrated computing, smart edge devices, IoT, embedded software, and electronic system design.
  5. Strategic & Tactical: Able to balance long-term vision with hands-on deal execution, driving both individual and team revenue growth.
