Business Development Manager (Forklift Batteries)

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working on an exclusive basis with a leading provider of industrial batteries and related products. Focusing predominantly on the material handling sector, they require a new Business Development Manager to work on a national basis in growing the end user customer base in addition to forklift OEMs & dealers. Responsibilities

• Targeting OEMs, end user & distributor accounts across the UK in a number of different market sectors, mostly industrial and warehousing related.
• Providing a solutions-based approach in understanding customer requirements for batteries and motive power services.
• Working in conjunction with material handling providers and other parties to ensure customer expectations are fulfilled and a full solution is provided to an adequate standard.
• Collaborating with the Contracts Managers.
• Discussing other possible customer requirements in addition to batteries for material handling, including AGVs, Electric Vehicles, Sweepers, and access equipment.

Requirements

The role requires an individual with both a driven personality and a willingness to understand the technicalities of material handling and warehouse solutions. You will ideally possess experience of selling into industrial/warehouse previously, preferably from within material handling batteries, forklift trucks, racking, or similar; however, this is by no means essential. A technical background in either forklifts or batteries is also preferred though not essential, and ultimately the flexibility to target different revenue streams on a national basis is key.
