Business Development Manager

Location: Reading
Type: Permanent
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Holt Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our client in the Reading area. As the sole sales function, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and building long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
  1. New Business Development: Focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities within the Fit Out sector, particularly with contractors specializing in retail store fit-outs.
  2. Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  3. Market Research & Development: Identify and explore new market opportunities beyond retail, such as Defence, Security, Healthcare, and Construction.
  4. Business Development:
    1. Identify key decision-makers within the supply chain.
    2. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
    3. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations.
    4. Negotiate contracts and close deals.
  5. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of steel processing and general steel knowledge.
  6. Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries effectively.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  2. Strong understanding of the Fit Out market and its key players.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  5. Strong organisational and time management skills.
  6. Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach.
