We are recruiting for a Northern area Franchise Business Development Manager for one of the UK’s largest Grounds Maintenance Service providers who work across a variety of sectors including Retail, Facilities Management, Local Authority, Corporate Commercial Facilities, Hotel and Leisure, Education, Infrastructure, Highways, Social Housing, Sports, Healthcare, Emergency Services, Ministry of Defence, and Utilities. They operate from 40 locations within the UK, employ 600+ team members, and deliver a grounds maintenance service to more than 10,000 sites a year.

On offer is a salary of between £50,000 and £54,000 a year, a bonus scheme, company car, laptop, mobile phone, 23 days holiday plus an extra day off for your birthday.

Please note there is an 80% minimum requirement of travel to visit franchisees per week in an area that covers from Manchester to Perth.

As the Franchise Business Development Manager, you will be joining an experienced Business Development team which means a detailed initial handover when you start as well as ongoing guidance to ensure you are fully supported as you learn your new role.

To be considered you will need to have grounds maintenance and/or landscape services experience, be both contract and commercially aware with strong business development skills and an understanding of operational management. This opportunity would suit sales professionals, operations managers, contracts managers, business owners, and those working in a similar role developing franchisees within the grounds maintenance sector.

Now for the detail:

  • Managing a portfolio of franchisees and supporting them throughout their training, ensuring they start off their business in the best way and work closely with them to ensure they are growing/developing a successful business in their local area.

This will include:

  • Acting as the link between franchise business owners and Head Office.
  • Ensuring your allocated franchisees are operating their businesses correctly.
  • Supporting the continued growth and business development of the company’s franchisee and franchise network.
  • Working alongside fellow Franchise Business Development Managers, assisting in the day-to-day business development and management of franchisees.
  • Analysing the sales processes and financial performance of the business to advise, motivate, and train franchise owners and their staff to grow their business. This will involve monitoring KPIs, producing reports, and sharing these reports and information with the wider business.
  • Helping to prepare for and accompany Franchisees on appointments with prospective customers.
  • Providing in-house training on systems (including CRM) to promote efficiency and productivity.
  • Training and mentoring your franchisees, supporting field training, working and setting business plans, identifying blockages to business growth, developing bespoke strategies to achieve business growth and increased profitability, monitoring and ensuring plans are followed, and providing advice, guidance, and information when dealing with issues.

Requirements

To be considered as the Franchise Business Development Manager you are going to need:

  • Grounds Maintenance and/or Landscape Services experience.
  • Experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Business Development Manager, Franchise Business Development Manager, or owning your own Grounds Maintenance company.
  • To be living within the area that the role covers from Perth through to Manchester (including – Perth, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries, Carlisle, Newcastle, Darlington, Kendal, Lancaster, York, Harrogate, Bolton, Liverpool, Manchester, Doncaster to Hull).
