Job description

We are seeking a driven, community-focused, and results-oriented Sales Manager to take London's premier Jiu-Jitsu studio to the next level. This is more than a sales role—it’s an opportunity to build a movement, champion the talent of their world-class coaches, and firmly establish the studio as the go-to destination for Jiu-Jitsu in London.

You’ll be responsible for membership growth, local partnerships, and bringing in new members who want to train at the highest level or develop a new skill set. You will build sales strategies, curating a thriving community of dedicated practitioners, and work closely with the coaching team to ensure every new member is set up for success.

If you’re passionate about martial arts, community-building, and sales, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Salary: £40,000 base + OTE

Commission: great commission incentives

Working Hours: 40 hours p/w (minimum)

Leave: 25 Days per annum (plus bank holidays).

The Role...

Growing the Jiu-Jitsu Community & Driving Membership Sales

  • Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to attract new members, fighters, and hobbyists alike.
  • Build relationships within the local martial arts and fitness scene—engaging with athletes, businesses, and influencers to position the studio as the top training facility in London.
  • Champion the calibre of their coaches—ensure new members understand the elite level of training on offer and what sets the studio apart.
  • Convert inquiries into committed members through a consultative, passionate, and high-energy sales approach.
  • Host open mats, trial sessions, and showcase events to bring in new faces and integrate them into the Jiu-Jitsu community.

Forging Partnerships & Elevating the Studio’s Reputation

  • Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, schools, corporate clients, and sports teams to promote Jiu-Jitsu as a lifestyle and training discipline.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the brand is reaching the right audiences across London’s martial arts scene.
  • Represent the studio at competitions, seminars, and networking events, building credibility and attracting serious practitioners.

Community Engagement & Member Retention

  • Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere—making the studio a second home for both new and experienced members.
  • Work with coaches to tailor membership packages that meet the needs of different levels—whether competitors, hobbyists, or complete beginners.
  • Check in with members regularly, ensuring they’re progressing, engaged, and part of the community for the long term.
  • Create a referral and ambassador program to turn existing members into passionate advocates for the studio.

Data-Driven Sales & Business Growth

  • Track and analyse key performance metrics—membership numbers, retention rates, lead conversion, and revenue growth.
  • Use CRM systems and sales tools to optimise lead conversion and customer experience.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, adjusting strategies to stay ahead of market trends and maximise membership growth.

The Person...

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven track record in a sales or business development role, ideally within fitness, combat sports, or a premium lifestyle brand.
  • Experience in community-building and partnership development.
  • Strong knowledge of (or deep passion for) Jiu-Jitsu, martial arts, or combat sports.
  • A network within the London fitness or martial arts community is a bonus.

Skills & Mindset

  • Sales-Driven: You thrive in a target-driven environment and know how to convert leads into loyal members.
  • Community Builder: You love connecting people, creating networks, and building a movement.
  • Passionate About Martial Arts: You understand the Jiu-Jitsu culture and can speak authentically about its benefits.
  • Relationship-Focused: You build trust and rapport naturally, both with new clients and long-time practitioners.
  • Strategic & Data-Savvy: You think big-picture, track performance, and adjust strategies to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Creative & Proactive: You bring fresh ideas, innovative marketing tactics, and enthusiasm to everything you do.
