Job description

Position: Japanese speaking Business Development Manager

Company: Global MNC company, Joint venture of a major foreign automobile manufacturer.

Salary: JPY 7-10 million
Job Location: Tokyo (or Work from home)
Language: Native level of Japanese is a must
Business level of English would be an advantage

Position Summary

The Key Account Manager will take specific responsibility for establishing successful and sustainable business relationships with large clients and developing them into potential key accounts.

Job Duties

  1. Lead new business: work with partner company, a major foreign car manufacturer, on target customers (e.g. major auto parts retailers) and develop strategies on how to approach these customers.
  2. Mission is to acquire new customers such as major auto parts retailers (e.g. Yellow Hat, Autobacs, SPK, etc.) and build good relationships with existing customers.
  3. Analyse potential new customers (e.g. business and sales), identify targets and measure feasibility for each customer.
  4. Prepare a business plan developed for the partner company and prepare for negotiations.
  5. Build good relationships with the partner company, a major foreign car manufacturer.
  6. Search for partners with whom to collaborate regarding independent repair shops nationwide.
  7. Distribution management: verify that genuine parts are properly distributed to partner dealers and independent repair shops.
  8. Sales reviews: conduct monthly review meetings with partner companies regarding the sales of area sales staff.
  9. Define and implement measures to achieve area sales employees' targets.
  10. Manage stakeholders with all relevant departments (management, purchasing, marketing, sales, logistics, warehouse, etc.).
  11. Conduct training for area sales employees (you can use the content and training materials prepared by our partners).

Experience & Skills

  1. Experience in one of the following two areas (essential):
    1. Experience in automotive parts sales to major mass retailers or wholesalers (Yellow Hat, Autobacs, SPK, etc.).
    2. Experience working for a major mass retailer or wholesaler (Yellow Hat, Autobacs, SPK, etc.).
    3. Experience in sales in the aftermarket area of automotive parts (OES sales).
  2. Experience working in a parts or aftermarket department of a car manufacturer or dealer (preferred).
  3. Knowledge of the aftermarket of automotive components (a plus).
  4. English language skills at business level or above (a plus).
