Job description

Business Development Manager

Location: near Birmingham circa 4 days a week remote
Salary: up to £45k base + double OTE + benefits

Type: Permanent

I'm recruiting for a Business Development Manager working for an award-winning MSP, selling high value, low volume solutions. You'll be researching and developing sales outreach, marketing collateral, calling, emailing, and networking with a variety of decision-makers in the legal and finance world.

To do this, you'll be exploring opportunities with new and existing accounts, attending networking and industry events, meeting decision-makers, and working in tandem with the technical managing director to design multi-million-pound solutions, highlighting efficiencies, showing cost savings, and getting the sale over the line through consistently communicating with your customers.

What you'll need:

You won't need a technical background as much of the technical work will be handled by the MD. This isn't a presales role, and the MD will be hands-on in both winning business and designing solutions. A background in IT or technical solutions is not necessary; however, experience in selling software solutions or something tech-adjacent will be beneficial.

What you will need is a track record of sales delivery, including:

  1. Solutions sales
  2. Cold calling
  3. Market mapping
  4. In-person networking
  5. Building a pipeline of opportunities
  6. Lead generation and qualification

Bonus points for any experience in:
  1. Selling software
  2. Managed services
  3. Telephony
  4. Print
  5. Cyber or other IT services including licenses or seats
  6. Working towards monthly or annually recurring revenue targets
