Salary Details: £40,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance.

Steel Cactus Recruitment are recruiting for a Business Development Manager for our client based in Northern Ireland, preferably Belfast/Co Tyrone.

This is a permanent opportunity for the right candidate working for a well-established business. This position offers potential for great career progression.

The ideal candidate must be an experienced Business Development Manager, with experience working in the steel sector and a track record of growing client bases.

The successful candidate would be required to travel to Sheffield or Manchester for part of their week just for the initial period of starting up and training and then the role will be remote. All travel expenses will be covered by the company.

Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience plus car allowance.
Shift Pattern: Full time - Monday – Friday

Duties will include:

  1. Covering sales into Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
  2. Making calls/emails to generate new clients and sales leads, occasionally making external visits as and when needed.
  3. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  4. Growing a client base by promoting key products and added value services by identifying and targeting specific industry sectors.
  5. Respond to enquiries and preparing accurate written presentations, reports and price quotations in a timely manner.
  6. Use relevant databases to provide required information on stock availability.
  7. Ensure accounts trade within agreed credit limits.
  8. Achieving targets.
  9. Maintaining organised records of customer interactions, sales activities and follow-ups.

The ideal candidate:
  1. An experienced Business Development Manager with knowledge of steel plate, plate processing and structural sections.
  2. Drive and ambition to grow their sales career within the steel industry.
  3. Great communication and customer service skills.
  4. Able to work independently but contribute to the growth of the business.
  5. Sales person with 3+ years’ experience.
