This role sits within our New Markets & Services Business Development Sector, a critical function with MBDA.
Salary: Circa £85,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1 - 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:You will lead the development of the "Effect Management Segment" (EMS) and other services associated with Systems of Systems (SoS), as well as define a novel value proposition and set of services to increase the performance of MBDA products in an integrated/multi-domain battlefield.
The objective of this role is to clearly identify the following; customer needs, platform and system dependencies, positioning of competitors and potential partners in effects management, as well as produce the appropriate roadmaps with corresponding funding and business models.
What you will be doing:Lead the following activities within the Group BD New Markets & Services sector:
- Understand Markets, Competitors and major trends for C2 and effects management
- Define key capabilities/performance and competitiveness criteria to address the market
- Evaluate alternative business models and funding mechanisms
- Establish consolidated investment plans with internal and/or external funding
- Define European/International collaboration strategies to improve our product offer
- Support Product Line Owners to ensure coherency between MBDA product roadmaps and national roadmaps or concepts in relation to Multi-Domain Integration and/or SoS
- Produce a capture plan defining the main achievements/options for subsequent years e.g. internal decision points, customer achievements
Secure MBDAs position in EMS and structure strategic campaigns:- Help define top EMS / SoS priorities and objectives for MBDA
- Develop Market & Product/Services strategy options for senior management approval
- Position MBDA within national or European SoS concepts and visions
- Act as Win Team Leader for national and/or multi-national contracts
- Coordinate multi-national team efforts towards group objectives
Support transformation in MBDA and help structure the appropriate organization:
- Through collaboration with various key MBDA departments (National Sales, Programmes, Strategy, Transformation), determine appropriate structure to pursue EMS business opportunities
- Support implementation of the agreed EMS transformation initiative
What we're looking for from you:
- Extensive knowledge & experience of defense systems business and industry
- Extensive understanding and experience of dealing with defense procurement and Armed Forces
- Broad and in-depth business, commercial and technical background and experience
- Demonstrated business winning skills including:
- Requirements analysis & capture (stated or implied)
- Business strategy development
- Customer Relationship Management
- Internal stakeholder and supply chain management
- Collaboration and technical partnering
- Answering RFI/RFP
- Lobbying and promotion of bids
- Negotiating and closing deals
- FR/UK/IT/GE national, proficient in English
