Our client, a rapidly growing metal trader with five depots across the UK, is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Business Development Executive to join their dynamic team. The Role:

Initially, the Business Development Executive will work closely with a Senior Metal Trader, gaining industry knowledge and experience before transitioning into a field-based role. The successful candidate will spend 4-5 days per week on the road, focusing on acquiring non-ferrous and some ferrous metals from scrap merchants and manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with scrap merchants and manufacturers.
  2. Sourcing and purchasing non-ferrous and ferrous metals.
  3. Conducting regular client visits to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  4. Negotiating competitive pricing and ensuring profitable transactions.
  5. Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  6. Maintaining accurate records and reports on purchasing activities.
  7. Meeting and exceeding business development targets.

The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Self-motivated, results-driven, and ambitious with a passion for sales and relationship building.
  2. Previous experience in business development, field sales, or metal trading is desirable but not essential.
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  4. A proactive and tenacious approach to securing new business.
  5. Willingness to travel to develop and maintain client relationships.

Package & Benefits:
  1. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
