Job description

Andy File Associates Limited are acting as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

Business Development Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 plus annual bonus up to 20% of salary

Benefits: 25 days hols plus stats, plus electric car, revolut credit card fully expensed, 8% co pension with 5% from employee.

Location: Remote working from home with 1-2 days working from our client Head Office in Sheffield.

Reporting to: Sales Manager UK and Ireland

Mission

Implementation the strategic and technical sales activities for the UK and provide assistance as and when to Ireland. The typical focus account groups will be Distribution/Stockists, DNO’s/Utility, Contractors and OEM accounts, ensuring that our clients product portfolio is compliant with the requirements of the necessary applications.

Achieve product approvals within the DNO’s to ensure the inclusion of products within their standards or achieve replacement of competitor products.

Provide excellent communication both externally and internally to promote the advantages of our clients approach promoting technical benefits and differentiation.

This role will be responsible for direct interface into Product Management for product adaptions and associated value-added services that can be potentially specified with the scheme. Aiding and supporting the internal market intelligence by assisting our PM/Technology Teams with the evolution of the products applicable for the LV and MV connections up to 52kV, including Components, Earthing, Safety Equipment and associated applications and sectors (Renewable Wind/Solar).

As part of this position, you will also coordinate and prepare tender proposals taking ownership of the customer enquiry including management of new and existing contractual framework agreements.

Promote our clients UK Services offerings, in particular training options, onsite advisory and tooling portfolio.

Provide monthly reports by product group/customer, clearing showing the activity taken, priority and next steps with clear allocation of responsibility.

Regular meetings and communication within the Sales team to ensure that the local market intelligence is maintained and shared.

Responsibility for ensuring the relevant program of exhibitions, targeted accounts are managed in conjunction with Marketing, and a schedule of targeted product demonstrations.

To provide marketing notes and applications for the Marketing division so that campaigns and exhibitions can be optimized and create demand for our targeted product groups including the delivery of “White Papers” in collaboration with the PM team.

Day to day duties of this role

  1. To ensure business objectives (agreed with the Sales Director) for the defined area are achieved.
  2. To achieve agreed monthly sales targets and KPI’s.
  3. Manage and maintain a client list for existing and new potential partners to include detailed mapping of our key client base.
  4. Creating interest and opportunity to DNO/OEM/Strategic customers.
  5. Follow up on active quotations to ensure customer/sales channel is satisfied/understands our clients offer/solutions and associated benefits.
  6. Liaise with Technology/Product Managers to produce specifications/adaptations for existing products to enable OEM’s to approve use in their projects.
  7. To produce regular reports on the Product Group showing competition-based solutions, potential market value and our results.
  8. Maximise revenue, profitability and customer growth with an aim to build strong relationships based on trust and partnerships.
  9. Own and coordinate customer issues, taking appropriate action to solve problems and minimise customer disruptions.
  10. Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
  11. Work with UK and Germany to ensure comprehensive responses can be provided to establish our client as a key technology partner.
  12. Attend relevant training courses within the group.
