Business Design Lead (BA/PM)
The Role:
The Business Transformation Team is at the heart of reshaping the Asset Management business to meet the demands of a dynamic and competitive landscape. Responsible for driving transformational change across the organisation, this team is focused on helping to enable scalable growth, operational excellence and market-leading client experience. As a Business Design Lead, you will be hands-on in driving business & process analysis, process mapping and process optimisation supporting initiatives across Growth, Location Strategy & Internationalisation, Simplification, and Business Efficiency.
This role requires a strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, attention to detail as well as the ability to work through ambiguity and complexity. This role will require focus on both business analysis and leading initiatives and projects where required. You will work across a diverse set of stakeholders, leveraging design thinking and process improvement methodologies to develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse data to identify trends, assess impacts, and support informed decision-making.
- Conduct detailed process mapping, workflow and cost analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analysis, identifying key pain points and recommending targeted interventions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational complexity ensuring clear benefits realisation both quantitative and qualitative.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and engagement sessions to gather insights and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and solution designs.
- Develop business cases, reports, and recommendations, ensuring leadership has clarity on transformation opportunities, whilst recognising risks and dependencies to ensure informed business decision making.
- Use data visualisation techniques to present insights in a compelling and actionable way.
- Work across Investments, Distribution, Operations, HR, Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Technology to drive business change, connect the dots and ensure transformation efforts align to broader strategic objectives.
- Navigate complex and ambiguous business challenges, structuring problems into actionable solutions.
- Take ownership of specific transformation workstreams and/or projects, ensuring initiatives are well-structured, managed and delivered effectively, escalating in a timely fashion and ensuring clarity on problem statement.
- Support project managers and senior leaders in programme execution, ensuring project milestones are met.
- Be data-driven, leveraging Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline workflows.
- Develop solutions that balance automation, technology integration, and process standardisation.
- Ensure that all transformation efforts adhere to governance frameworks, risk management, and reporting standards.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience in process mapping, workflow optimisation, and business analysis.
- Proficiency with tools such as Visio, or other process modelling software.
- Proficiency with deriving business benefits, including financial modelling to present clear financial outcomes.
- Ability to deconstruct complex business problems, identify root causes, and develop structured solutions.
- Experience applying design thinking methodologies to improve business processes and user experiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present meaningful insights.
- Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, engaging with stakeholders across multiple business areas.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear business requirements.
- Experience supporting and, when required, leading transformation initiatives or projects.
- Understanding of project management principles, governance, and risk management.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies.
- Ability to streamline processes, enhance controls, and drive measurable efficiency gains.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, managing shifting priorities.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, adjust to evolving business needs, and solve problems in real-time.
- Strong ability to document and present findings, business cases, and transformation recommendations.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
