Job description

Our Commodities and Global Markets Business Credit Team in London is dedicated to managing the credit risk for a diverse portfolio of European and Asian trading counterparties. We work closely with various trading desks to understand the risk nature of transactions and ensure robust credit analysis and approval processes.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 55 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

You will actively communicate with trading desks to fully understand transaction risks and meet with clients to assess their financial positions. Your role will involve trade documentation, financial analysis, credit exposure calculation, and proactive engagement with business units to identify innovative solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for the initialisation, review, and negotiation of credit risk and other risk clauses in trade documentation. You will also monitor counterparty and industry developments in real time, including conducting annual reviews of existing credit limits. Your ability to respond to trading requests daily and maintain accurate attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment is crucial to your success.

What you offer

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience in broader credit risk analysis with a high degree of ownership and timeliness.
  • Strong persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and handle competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of European and Asian commodity trading markets is beneficial but not required.

The variety of work offers unmatched learning and development opportunities, working with an established and experienced Credit team.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us. If you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie, we encourage you to apply.
