Business Coordinators, (Network News), News Group Operations Support (Job Ref: 20740)

Job Introduction
Working in the Production and Business Management Team, the primary objective of the role is to support the business and its key stakeholders in delivering world-beating journalism 24/7/365. The two new Business Co-ordinator roles will partner with a range of editorial teams based in across the UK and fulfil administrative and secretariat duties for committees across the wider News Division.

Main Responsibilities
The Business Co-ordinators will partner closely with a range of News Content teams to support key business management activities including on-boarding administration, raising purchase orders and IT requests, collating, analysing and reporting specific Management Information (MI), including budget and headcount, as well as supporting the business with the delivery of strategic projects. These roles will also provide a range of business management services to editorial and operational teams to enable the business unit to achieve its objectives. The co-ordinators will work with senior leaders across News to ensure the efficient and effective operation of decision-making and oversight groups across News, organising meetings, co-ordinating papers, taking minutes and recording decisions. The immediate priority will be to support establishing and embedding a new customer-focused support model and ways of working with editorial teams newly under the Business Management umbrella and with those undergoing significant change. Ongoing, you will also work with the Business Partner and Business Advisor to ensure that the business management services remain fit-for-purpose, continually adapting to evolving customer and business needs.

Are you the right Candidate?

  • Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support in a business unit of similar complexity across a range of teams, ideally with knowledge and experience of corporate governance and the administration of decision-making and oversight groups.
  • Highly organised with a flexible and proactive approach and an ability to work with limited supervision and to co-ordinate a busy workload with conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and practical experience of gathering, analysing and collating complex and confidential information.
  • Ability to handle and analyse large amounts of data to produce MI data reports in a range of formats, ensuring deadlines are met and information provided is complete, accurate and timely.
  • Strong IT skills with solid experience of office software packages (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and preferably of other specialist reporting and business management tools.
  • Experience in building and maintaining constructive working relationships with individuals across a range of teams and professional support functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to target the content to the audience.

Package Description
Band: C
Contract: 2 x Continuing (perm) roles
Base: 1 x London & 1 x Salford (These are hybrid roles with an expectation that you will work a minimum of 3 days a week in the office).
Salary: £28,500 - £35,500 p.a. depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
