About the Role

This is a hybrid role at the heart of our software development process, combining Business Analysis and Quality Assurance. You’ll act as the bridge between stakeholders and developers, translating needs into well-scoped, technically sound Jira tickets and testing solutions to ensure they meet our business objectives.

This isn’t just about documentation; it’s about owning the process of requirement scoping from initial stakeholder engagement through to sign-off-ready development tickets and rigorous QA testing.

Hours: 40hpw, Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements & Ticket Scoping:
1. Gather, define, and refine business requirements.
2. Create detailed Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria.
3. Ensure work is properly prioritised, technically feasible, and unambiguous.
2. Process Documentation:
1. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Support the team with documentation that boosts efficiency and clarity.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and other departments to capture and validate needs.
2. Translate cross-functional input into actionable technical requirements.
4. Technical Collaboration:
1. Partner with developers to understand limitations and guide solution design.
2. Serve as the communication hub between business and tech.
5. Quality Assurance:
1. Conduct manual testing of new features and fixes.
2. Identify bugs early and ensure all releases meet user expectations and functional needs.

Person Specification

We’re looking for someone who thrives on detail, loves working across teams, and is obsessed with quality and clarity.

• Proven experience in a Business Analyst or QA Tester role (or both!)
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Jira ticketing systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Confidence in liaising with non-technical stakeholders and technical teams
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience working in a retail, e-commerce, or operational environment
• Familiarity with test case design and defect tracking
• Exposure to process improvement initiatives
• A collaborative mindset and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude
