Business Analyst - Global Sports Management Consulting

We combine unrivalled expertise in sport and physical activity with top-tier strategy consulting credentials, always with a deep understanding of the uniqueness of each assignment.

We have exciting opportunities for a small number of Business Analysts to join our team based in London.

Our projects are wide and varied, spanning strategy, organisation, governance, project management, and implementation. Recent examples include:

1. Creating commercial strategy for one of the world's largest multi-team groups
2. Designing a post-acquisition strategy for a newly acquired UK sports team
3. Developing strategies to professionalise women's football and rugby
4. Leading the re-design of the global calendar across men's and women's rugby
5. Conducting ground-breaking research into the value of grassroots sport

As a Business Analyst you will have the opportunity to:

1. Undertake research, conduct analysis, draw out insights, and synthesise findings
2. Develop independent sections of client documents and presentations
3. Contribute to team problem-solving and help develop recommendations
4. Help prepare and conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings
5. Build productive day-to-day relationships with client team members
6. Support team planning and process management
7. Support Portas business development and internal firm-building activities.

We are looking for exceptional candidates who are high performers with an entrepreneurial mindset:

1. Excellent academic record
2. Highly numerate, with strong quantitative and conceptual problem-solving ability
3. Demonstrate a clear passion for sports and physical activity
4. Self-directed, proactive, and entrepreneurial
5. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to thrive in a team environment
6. Highly proficient in English is essential and Arabic, Spanish, French, and German is an advantage
7. Willingness and flexibility to travel

2. Case study preparation: Start your case study interview preparation; there are various tools online to support you with this. The case studies will be sports-based cases such as market sizing, market entry, profit improvement, growth strategy, investment, or make vs buy
3. The interview process: Online numerical and verbal reasoning test, screening interview, three case study interviews, and a final interview (each stage needs to be passed to move to the next round).
4. Estimated timeline: The interviews are likely to take place in December 2024 or January 2025
