Summary
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Hours
Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30pm). Shifts TBC.

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What You'll Do at Work
The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to identify business needs, analyze requirements, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and drive growth.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and document clear requirements
  2. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights for decision-making
  3. Project Support: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and implementation phases
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and discuss solutions.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
  6. Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project success
  7. Change Management: Assess the impact of changes and develop strategies for smooth transitions
  8. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure solutions meet quality standards
  9. Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
  10. Business Process Improvement: Analyze and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  11. Project Evaluation: Conduct evaluations and post-implementation reviews to assess effectiveness
  12. Business Continuity Planning: Participate in efforts to ensure continuity during disruptions or emergencies
  13. Knowledge Management: Capture lessons learned and promote knowledge sharing among team members
  14. Market Research: Conduct research and competitive analysis to inform business strategy
  15. Process Optimization: Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance business operations
  16. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  17. Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and deliverables
  18. Presentation Skills: Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders
  19. Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to design solutions that address business needs.
  20. Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and completeness in all documentation and analysis

Business analyst (level 4)

Equal to Higher National Certificate (HNC)
Course Contents:
  1. Apply appropriate approaches to scope, plan and perform Business Analysis
  2. Communicate effectively in a variety of situations with a range of stakeholders
  3. Apply a range of structured investigation techniques to a business situation
  4. Produce an outline definition of a business situation using an appropriate technique
  5. Apply appropriate techniques to identify problems and opportunities within a business situation
  6. Support the identification and presentation of proposed actions to stakeholders in order to gain agreement for further analysis activity
  7. Apply appropriate techniques to analyse and document options and recommendations for change
  8. Elicit process information from stakeholders
  9. Model business processes using relevant techniques, standards, notation and software tools
  10. Analyse business process models to identify opportunities for improvement
  11. Produce models of redesigned business processes
  12. Elicit requirements from stakeholders to identify business and user needs
  13. Document clear functional and non-functional requirements in line with local standards
  14. Analyse documented requirements to remove duplication, conflict and overlap
  15. Prioritise requirements using an appropriate prioritisation approach
  16. Validate requirements with stakeholders
  17. Support the establishment of requirements traceability
  18. Elicit business data needs from relevant sources
  19. Support the development of simple data models using relevant techniques, standards, notation and software tools
  20. Document current business situations to enable gap analysis and decision making
  21. Support the development of models of future state business situations
  22. Identify key differences between current and future business situations
  23. Identify actions required to move from the current to future business situation
  24. Define acceptance criteria for business and system changes
  25. Support business acceptance of business and system changes
  26. Apply relevant techniques to research and identify stakeholders
  27. Analyse and document stakeholders' areas of interest and influence
  28. Support the development of cost/benefit analysis for proposed business changes
  29. Evaluate and document the key impacts on people, process, organisation, technology and information
  30. Present information in a manner appropriate to the audience

Your Training Plan:
  1. Business Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard
  2. You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills
  3. Your training will include gaining a Level 4 Business Analyst qualification

Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
  • GCSE in English (grade C/4 +)
  • GCSE in Maths (grade C/4 +)
