Job description

Business Analyst

Remote working

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS business with cutting-edge software solutions. Their unique cloud-based platform has quickly proven to be a leader in the industry, and their global product development department provides SaaS solutions to various companies within the organisation and others in the sector. As the business continues to expand, they are looking for talented individuals to join their team in developing market-leading property management software products.

About the Role

This is an exciting and varied Business Analyst role, offering much more than filling out tables and forms. Some days will involve mapping business processes and modelling the domain for an industry undergoing significant digital transformation. On other days, the focus will be on capturing user demands and challenges for a variety of personas, including internal staff, clients' staff, customers, and their families.

The role will involve writing user stories for the customer portal, using JIRA to manage them. The individual will work with teams to ensure that customer experience and service are at the forefront of everything the company does. At times, the role will shift from a business context to a software context, crafting clear user stories based on research and applying them to a single software platform that addresses part of the domain. The role offers collaboration with a knowledgeable team, interacting with a complex and demanding business stakeholder community where effective collaboration and communication are essential.

The individual will work alongside engineering, product, and stakeholders from various companies within this growing SaaS organisation, gaining a comprehensive understanding of complex needs and processes. The Business Analyst's expertise in requirements analysis will guide the development of next-generation property management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in understanding complex business needs through comprehensive requirements analysis, engaging stakeholders across different business units.
  • Write user stories for the customer portal, using JIRA to track and manage progress.
  • Advise product and leadership teams by distilling key insights into detailed specifications that guide development efforts and enable strategic decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate processes and business needs, driving innovation and transformation as business and technology evolve rapidly.
  • Assess and validate product requests, providing deep analysis of business problems that need to be addressed and describing them in clear and unambiguous terms.
  • Generate artefacts in various forms, from technical ticketing systems to structured documents and non-technical presentations.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the service delivery models used within the organisation and how service delivery relates to the product platforms.
  • Collect, analyse, and synthesise staff and customer feedback along with market research to refine product requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of how new product features impact business processes and propose common solutions.
  • Support feature validation during development through user testing and feedback loops in collaboration with the Design team.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics for product launches, regularly analyse product performance, and make data-driven recommendations for optimisations and improvements.
  • Continuously contribute insights on market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to foster innovation.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will approach work with curiosity and a user-focused mindset. They will actively listen, ask the right questions, and provide analytical recommendations with clear logic and evidence. They should be capable of advising strategically on innovative opportunities, mentoring teams through change, and building trust through transparent work.

Experience

  • Expertise in evaluating complex needs, guiding product development, and advising on innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with non-technical businesses or in environments undergoing digital transformation.
  • Skilled in engaging with cross-functional teams, workflow mapping, and identifying growth opportunities through technology.
  • Passionate about using analytical skills to enhance customer service via technology, improving efficiency and guiding digital transformation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus, but not essential.
  • Experience working in the service industry is ideal.
  • Previous experience working with product development in a service industry is advantageous.

Location

This is a fully remote position. The ability to travel for meetings and workshops a few times a month would be a plus.
