Here at Warwick District Council, we are going through some exciting changes, and we want you to come and be a part of those changes. We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor, with an emphasis on Disrepair and HHSRS to work in our Technical Team. This is an exciting opportunity to help the team shape and deliver on its repairing obligation, especially those around disrepair. The successful candidate will also support the delivery of our planned and cyclical programmes, as well as an opportunity to support projects related to our commercial and corporate stock. We are looking to ensure all our stock is fit for the future, and this role is crucial in ensuring that this happens. Duties will include condition and dilapidation surveys of the portfolio, as well as regular monitoring of the properties to ensure that the works identified are adhered to and issues of disrepair are resolved.

We are after highly motivated technical individuals that can deliver high quality building surveying, project management, contract management, and budget management skills. Successful applicants must have a thorough understanding of current and pending legislation to ensure that our duties as a landlord and service provider are met and carried out to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. Project management of construction-based contracts would be of great assistance in undertaking these jobs.
You will need to have a good technical knowledge of construction, property and contract management legislation and practices, and excellent technical construction knowledge. As part of the work we undertake, we are constantly looking to improve the built environment for our customers and ensure that whilst works are in progress, disruption is kept to a minimum.
The intention is for the postholder to work predominantly from home; however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
