Bailey Partnership is an award winning consultancy practice seeking to recruit Building Surveyors of all experience levels, from Graduate/Intermediate to Senior, to join our Exeter and Torquay offices.

Established in 1971 and operating from 10 offices across the South of England, East Midlands & Manchester, we are a Building Top 150 consultancy offering Architectural, Interior Design, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Fire Engineering, Project Management, Civil & Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, and Town Planning services.

The successful candidate will be required to act on behalf of both public and private sector clients across a complete range of projects.

About the Role:

As a Building Surveyor, you will be able to work well within an experienced team of Building Surveyors as well as being entrusted to take sole responsibility for managing your own projects from inception through to completion. This role offers a blend of traditional building surveying and project management, encompassing diverse sectors and building types. You'll strengthen your expertise to evaluate building conditions, and provide improvement advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct building surveys and inspections, including condition surveys, dilapidation surveys, and pre-acquisition surveys, and collect information to later be recorded.
  2. Prepare and produce detailed reports and tender packages.
  3. Meet with other professionals, clients, customers and others to obtain and provide information relating to land, property or construction, whilst maintaining professionalism and consistency.
  4. Undertake costings, measurements and/or valuations using data collected from your research.
  5. Help to identify defects and advise on remedial works.
  6. Willingness to travel across the region to fulfil the requirements of the role.
  7. Ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
  8. Coach, mentor and develop more junior staff (which could include line management).
