Job description

A client within the Public Sector based in the Northeast is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.


The Role

Key purpose of the role is to provide assistance to the Building Surveying Manager in delivering a comprehensive surveying, specification, and estimating function. To procure and manage contracts.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparation of bills of quantities, design specifications, valuations on contracts, and measurement of works on-site.
  2. Process documentation/information to aid various sections in performing their works efficiently.
  3. Carry out subcontractor evaluations post-contract and manage sub-contractor accounts.
  4. Lead on retrofit grant schemes and ensure all requirements are achieved to deliver a compliant and successful scheme.
  5. Support in the procurement of contracts, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tender submissions.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  1. HNC in Building Studies or equivalent.
  2. 5 years' experience in the construction/maintenance industry.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  1. Degree in a Construction-related subject.
  2. Experience working in a local authority.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 per hour PAYE / £24 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35).
