Building Fabric Engineer

Reactive Works | Commercial Environments | £38-40K Base | £50K - 60K OTE | Van + Employment Package | Weekly Pay

Due to an increase in contract demand, we are actively recruiting for a Reactive Works / Building Fabric Engineer to work on a reactive basis, attending maintenance issues across all building fabric disciplines within commercial environments. Works may include:

  1. Carpentry: Basic woodwork, door repairs, wall repairs, shaving down doors, door closing systems, fixtures and fittings, plaster boarding, making safe of areas, ceiling tiles etc.
  2. Plumbing: Taps, washers, flusher, internal blockages, leak detection etc.
  3. Patch roof repairs
  4. Patch tiling: walls / floors.
  5. Pump repairs / replacements
  6. Lamps / ballasts
  7. Painting and decorating

Further duties will include:

  1. Driving the company van in a professional / sensible manner.
  2. Collecting parts / materials and keeping van stock up to date (paid for by the company).
  3. Providing detailed remedial reports of works.
  4. Use of company and client CAFM systems.
  5. Working to company/ industry standards health and safety / compliance standards.
  6. Carrying out between 4-8 reactive jobs per day (location dependant).
Employment Package
  1. Role: Reactive Works - Building Fabric Engineer
  2. £38,000 - £40,000 Basic Salary per annum.
  3. Expected annual earnings: £50,000 - £60,000.
  4. Location: Within maximum 50 mile radius of home address, ie: West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire etc.
  5. Permanent, PAYE position, Paid Weekly.
  6. Paid Overtime: X1.5 rate until Midnight, X2 rate overnight or anytime Sundays & Bank Holidays.
  7. Call out rota: 1 in 4 weeks: £80 per call out + overtime rates after 1st hour on-site.
  8. Provided: Company van, fuel card, pension, phone etc.
  9. Holidays: 29 days including bank holidays.
  10. Weekly pay schedule: 1 week in hand.
Candidate Profile
  1. City and Guilds or NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant trade discipline is preferable or "time served" applications also acceptable.
  2. Experience in a reactive maintenance role is highly preferable.
  3. Experience working in commercial environments is highly preferable.
  4. Must have a strong skill set in all round "building fabric" disciplines, similar to those listed above under "works may include" (plumbing, carpentry etc).
  5. Must have a UK driving license with under 9 points.
