Building Control Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and approve building control applications, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, statutory requirements, and local policies.
Carry out site inspections at all stages of construction to verify adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
Provide professional advice and guidance to developers, architects, contractors, and the public on building regulations and construction best practices.
Investigate and address dangerous structures and unauthorised works, taking appropriate enforcement action when necessary.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, assessments, and decisions in accordance with council procedures.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support safe and sustainable developments.

About You:

Qualified Professional: Degree in building surveying, construction, or a related field, with membership (or working towards) of a professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Building Regulations, construction standards, and health and safety requirements.
Practical Experience: Demonstrated experience in building control, plan checking, and site inspections.
Problem-Solver: Ability to identify risks, assess compliance, and propose effective solutions.
Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
