The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a BSA Compliance Analyst role in the Miami, FL area. The position is responsible for performing BSA/AML activity monitoring, analytics, and reporting. (This is not a remote position).

BSA Analyst responsibilities include:

1. Handle the more complex, higher risk customers and alert types.
2. Perform and document sufficient KYC/CDD Information to effectively support alert resolution.
3. Conduct a detailed review of alerted transactions to identify if activity is commensurate with customer relationship based on KYC/CDD information available.
4. Apply technical knowledge to accurately assess the transactional activity by identifying risks, patterns and trends that could be related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
5. Utilize internal systems, databases available, and internet research to gather information needed to support analysis and draw conclusions related to transactional activity.
6. Prepare a write-up that adequately supports conclusions as to “why” the activity is reasonable for the customer or provide recommendations to escalate potential suspicious activity (as needed).
7. Adhere to confidential policies, code of ethics, and follow policies and procedures relative to BSA/AML laws and regulations and best practices.
8. Address feedback received from QC functions and incorporate into future work products.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Chief BSA/AML/OFAC Officer.

1. 5+ years of related experience with emphasis on BSA transaction monitoring;
2. Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the US Patriot Act, OFAC, and Suspicious Activity Reporting;
3. Strong analytical skills are required to organize and analyze multiple, complete data sets as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
4. Excellent attention to detail and “follow through” skills;
5. Strong technical and research skills and Excel skills;
6. Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills;
7. Ability to understand and draw conclusions from research conducted;
8. Must have an ongoing sense of urgency and a high level of flexibility;
9. Maintains current on BSA/AML/OFAC news and events as well as regulatory updates.
10. PC proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel and knowledge of Database and Internet software.
