Job description

We have been asked by an NHS Trust in South Wales to help them recruit a Consultant Breast Radiologist, either on a substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis.

The successful appointee will be working at a dedicated purpose-built breast Centre within the Hospital. This Centre consists of clinic rooms, state-of-the-art radiology facilities, counselling rooms, a multidisciplinary teaching room, and offices for staff. There is even a gym facility for the patient's exercise prescription service. This post currently has four full-time Consultant Onco-plastic Breast Surgeons and a Specialty Doctor. In addition, they have active multidisciplinary teams with dedicated Breast Care Nurses, a research team, and a physiotherapist.

The successful appointee will be expected to undertake both symptomatic and screening assessment clinics providing the radiology expertise with breast and axillary ultrasound and ultrasound-guided core biopsy or stereotactic-guided core biopsy as required. Also, they will be expected to support the training and ongoing work of the allied health professionals undertaking extended roles within the breast services.
