Job Description

A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced Braking and Steering Control Systems Engineer to support with ongoing projects. This role involves tackling engineering challenges, supporting technical development, and working closely with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to deliver integrated technical solutions.

Location: Filton, North Bristol

Duration: 6 month contract

Hybrid working

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Perks: 4.5 days working week/Flexible working hours

SUBJECT TO BPSS+ CLEARENCE

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Landing Gear Systems Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for both short-term and long-term engineering challenges.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage subcontractors when needed.
  • Experience in handling in-service queries, airworthiness issues, and supplier investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team in developing technical solutions.
  • Ensure design reviews result in mature, certifiable products.
  • Integrate best practices and lessons learned from other programs.
  • Develop verification & validation (V&V) plans throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Address in-service technical issues, including concept design, technical notes, and repair specifications.
  • Manage stakeholders, report key issues, and escalate risks when necessary.
  • Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies to meet program objectives.
  • Leverage digital technologies to enhance operational reliability.
  • Engage effectively with teams, communicating technical solutions clearly.
