Job description

A BPSS clearance Vetting Officer is required for a 6 month contract. This role is remote and is inside IR35 so you will be required to work via an FCSA accredited umbrella company. Please note that you will be required to go through security clearance so will need to have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.


The BPSS Case handler will specialise in conducting UK Government BPSS checks for new joiners and existing employees who move onto projects where the client pre-employment check requirements vary from the client's standard checks.


Main responsibilities of the role:

  1. Administer all BPSS checks required for new joiners and existing employees who move onto high level security work for the UK Government.
  2. Provide timely and clear communications and status updates to the project leads.
  3. Work with project leads and HR managers on the resolutions of checks that are not cleared.
  4. Attend/ Lead calls with client PMO's to provide agreed updates and address any issues.
  5. Produce and develop Local Work Instructions and process maps.
  6. Respond to incoming client issues and requests, at all client levels, on a daily basis.
  7. Provide satisfactory outcomes to issues and requests, at all client levels, on a daily basis.
  8. Represent the business and act in a professional manner when dealing with the various 3rd parties.
  9. Handle all confidential and sensitive data in a manner under the rules of the Accenture data protection policy and inline with UK Government guidance.
  10. Review and approve 3rd party invoice requests. Ensure costs match with the clearances conducted.
  11. Support Team Lead with Business Excellence requirements.
  12. Provide BPSS aftercare services.

Key Skills:

  1. Recruitment Administration experience.
  2. Experience of conducting DBS, DS checks and / or National Security Vetting.
  3. GCSE's/O-Levels.
  4. Proven success in contributing within a team environment.
  5. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  6. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
