About the Role:
As a Boys' Physical Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of health, fitness, and sportsmanship among students. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons that encourage participation, skill development, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality PE lessons that cater to students of varying abilities and interests.
- Inspire and motivate students to participate in a broad range of sports and physical activities.
- Promote values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience through structured training and competitive opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure that lessons are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the national curriculum and school policies.
- Organise and oversee extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and tournaments.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship among students.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are met, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external sports organisations to enhance the PE curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Physical Education.
- Previous experience teaching PE at secondary level (KS3/KS4), with a track record of fostering student engagement and progress.
- A passion for sports and fitness, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
- Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum and contemporary teaching strategies in PE.
- A commitment to promoting student well-being and physical development.
- Experience in coaching or leading sports teams is an advantage.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
