Job description

Jenson Fisher are delighted to be working with an innovative and forward-thinking business based in Glasgow to recruit a Bookkeeper on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting into the Directors, the role of the Bookkeeper will be to ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately on a daily basis whilst ensuring the trial balances are completed monthly alongside accurate passing of the payroll information to an external payroll provider.


In a role which will suit an experienced Bookkeeper who is looking for a new challenge where they can add value through their skills and knowledge, your daily responsibilities will include:

  1. Bookkeeping to trial balance stage.
  2. Purchase ledger, including reconciling supplier statements.
  3. Sales ledger, including issuing invoices.
  4. Collation of time and attendance for payroll and resolving any anomalies.
  5. Credit control via telephone and letter.
  6. Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  7. Bank reconciliations.
  8. General accounts administration.
  9. Daily use of Xero (training will be provided) and Microsoft Excel.
