Our Outpatients Call Centre, based at Basildon Centre, St Martins Square offices are on the second floor of the building which is situated in the Town Centre of Basildon.

Upon appointment you may be expected to work in one of the main site hospitals (Basildon, Broomfield or Southend) for training and learning purposes, with you then moving to the office in Basildon Town Centre once competencies have been met.

Main Duties of the Job

As part of the central booking team, you will be responsible for booking both new and follow-up appointments across Basildon, Broomfield, and Southend.

Whilst we are predominantly looking for new recruits to our Basildon-based booking team, we do have a small number of reception opportunities at our Broomfield site. Please mention on your application if this location would also be of interest to you.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

• GCSE Maths and English or NVQ level 2 clerical or equivalent experience

Experience Essential

• Demonstrable experience in customer/patient focused role
• Experience of working in a busy, pressurised customer focused environment

Desirable

• NHS experience
• Experience in use of PAS Careflow and the electronic Referral Service

Skills Essential

• Computer literate - able to use Microsoft Packages effectively
• Good written communication skills demonstrated through application form
