Bill of Materials (BOM) Engineer
Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire
Hourly Rate: £20 - £21 per hour
Contract: short term - 8-10 weeks.

We're working with a cutting-edge manufacturer based in Farnborough, seeking a BOM Engineer to play a pivotal role in their operations. What You'll Be Doing

As a BOM Engineer, you'll be the critical link between Engineering, Procurement, and Production. Your focus will be on the accurate creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials, supporting efficient manufacturing and helping the wider team deliver outstanding results.

1. Creating and updating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and legacy products.
2. Working closely with Design, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure BOM accuracy and alignment with manufacturing requirements.
3. Managing and verifying component data, part numbers, and product configurations.
4. Using PDM (Product Data Management) systems to manage engineering documents and product lifecycle data.
5. Supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
6. Assisting with data entry and maintenance within ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
7. Identifying and implementing improvements to BOM structure and processes.

What You'll Need to Succeed

We're looking for someone who brings:

1. Proven experience with BOM management in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
2. Familiarity with PDM systems (such as SolidWorks PDM, Siemens Teamcenter, etc.).
3. Confidence using ERP/MRP systems and Excel for data accuracy and reporting.
4. Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
5. Solid understanding of NPI and ECO processes within a production environment.
6. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
