Job Summary
The Solution and Estimation Specialist is responsible for developing tailored solutions, providing accurate cost estimations, and supporting pre-sales activities for a designated CBRE account. The role requires deep technical expertise in IT infrastructures, HVAC systems, and building automation, along with strong analytical and communication skills. With a focus on maintaining client standards and profitability, the Specialist will collaborate with sales teams, perform site assessments, and ensure efficient project execution through cross-departmental coordination. Flexibility, professionalism, and continuous improvement are integral to the success of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Solutions Development
- Engage in pre-sales activities for a designated CBRE account.
- Develop innovative solutions and pricing models that align with client standards.
- Evaluate and test new products to determine if they meet customer-approved criteria.
Technical Expertise & Knowledge Maintenance- Maintain deep working knowledge of:
- BMS Design (Topology understanding)
- Automation control systems and infrastructures, including Niagara AX, N4, and associated components.
- Building systems associated with HVAC assets.
- Conduct research to integrate various sub-systems (e.g., fire alarms, generators, meters) into BAS platforms.
Project Estimation & Cost Analysis- Perform project take-offs and prepare cost estimates using CBRE tools.
- Ensure profitability by maintaining company margins in all estimates and proposals.
- Evaluate design alternatives for cost, profitability, and system performance.
Support for Sales & Client Engagements- Assist sales teams with client-facing events, including presentations and technology demonstrations.
- Prepare comprehensive project bid documents and alternative proposals.
Operational Efficiency & Collaboration- Attend project kickoff meetings and collaborate across departments for project success.
- Continuously identify and report on efficiencies in estimating, design, submittals, purchasing, and operations processes.
Site Visits & Documentation- Travel to client site to conduct assessments and provide Scope of Work (SoW) documentation.
Key Knowledge Areas- Commercial HVAC systems and control systems.
- IT hardware/software, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, AutoCAD, and other relevant applications.
- Arithmetic and algebra for calculations and cost analyses.
- Excellent command of English grammar, composition, and communication.
Skills & Competencies- Ability to read and understand HVAC/R and process mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Fluent in English.
