Job description

Job Title: BMS Commissioning Engineer

What will this person be doing?

  1. Commission and test BMS systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications and client requirements.
  2. Program and configure BMS software and hardware (e.g., controllers, sensors, actuators).
  3. Integrate BMS with third-party systems such as HVAC, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  4. Conduct functional testing, point-to-point checks, and system diagnostics.
  5. Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
  6. Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure coordination and timelines are met.
  7. Generate commissioning documentation, reports, and system handover packs.
  8. Perform site inspections and provide technical support during and after system handover.

Essential Skills

  1. Strong understanding of BMS systems
  2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  3. Experience with HVAC systems and controls integration
  4. Knowledge of networking protocols and system communication (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, KNX)
  5. Ability to program and configure BMS controllers and software platforms
  6. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  7. Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, contractors, and project teams

Salary: Negotiable

Location: North West

Working Hours: 37.5hr week - Excessive overtime is not encouraged/normal but required if works required out of hours.
