Bioprocess/Chemical Engineer

Monday – Friday

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading renewables company based in the Greater Belfast area to recruit a Bioprocess/Chemical Engineer.

This position will focus on the Anaerobic Digestion side of the business, primarily centered around the conversion of organic waste to biogas and biofertilisers. Key duties include maximizing output from organic matter input, analyzing process data, designing and implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Your Responsibilities as a Bioprocess/Chemical Engineer

• Assess and provide recommendations on the performance of biological treatment systems in client-facing settings.
• Stay informed about advancements in the anaerobic digestion, water, and wastewater industries.
• Offer on-site support for new and ongoing projects.
• Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, from initial consultation through to commissioning, with guidance from management.
• Prepare and deliver reports and updates as requested by management.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to foster business growth and development.

As a Bioprocess/Chemical Engineer, ideally you will have:

• A degree in a scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant industry.
• Strong self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously.
• Exceptional planning and organizational abilities.
• Possession of a full, valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating anaerobic digestion and/or activated sludge plants is ideal.
