Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Sunday.

HCPC Registration is required.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, Health and Care Professions Council registered, Specialist Biomedical Scientists to join the Haematology department based in the department. Active participation in CPD and opportunities for further study are both supported and encouraged. You will be employed to work shifts over 7 days, after appropriate training, which include evening, weekend and overnight shifts as required by the needs of the service. The department is UKAS accredited and accepted by MHRA to be in general compliance with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations.

The applicant should ideally have previous experience working in a Haematology / Blood Transfusion laboratory.
