HSL was formed to provide pathology services to the NHS Trusts and has expanded further to provide services to other NHS Trusts. Over 2,500 staff work at Sonic Healthcare UK, primarily under the TDL or HSL banner.

With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
About the role:
An opportunity exists for a full time experienced HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist who will be responsible for the delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose medical laboratory service.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Scientist with good technical skills, excellent communication skills and high quality standards to be part of an energetic, highly motivated and dynamic team to provide an efficient and effective service to our patients.
You will be part of a team responsible for the day to day running of the Clinical Biochemistry section and have the opportunity to play an integral part in introducing new methodologies and technologies and providing a service of the highest standard to our service users.
The department has state of the art Roche automation and has an impressive portfolio of routine and specialist testing, including Protein Electrophoresis and Mass Spectrometry. The site works closely with our specialist hub laboratories located at the Halo to deliver a high-quality service leading to enhanced patient care.
The laboratory is responsible for servicing the Biochemistry and Virology pathology needs of a large GP catchment area, and the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (one of the largest integrated NHS Trusts in the country). The Biochemistry department is divided across 2 sites Northwick Park Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital.
We are UKAS accredited and a recognised HCPC / IBMS training laboratory for both registration and specialist portfolios.
You will be working 37.5 hrs per week on a 24/7 shift pattern which includes early, lates and nights. Salaries are comparable with agenda for change pay scales dependant on experience.
